This is the third edition of the Fly Chablais Challenge - Race 2 or 5 of the French Hike and Fly Championship. The Fly Chablais Challenge is inspired by the same format as the Bornes to Fly or the famous Redbull X-Alps. Starting from one of the Chablais paragliding sites, varying each year (Thollon-Les-Mémises in 2025), the pilots will have to progress on a course made up of markers of a defined radius. The route is announced to the runners the day before the race by the race director depending on the weather conditions. It must be carried out with assistance while respecting two conditions: in flight or on foot... A three-day course punctuated by two bivouacs in the wilderness that can take the pilots to the Aravis and Bornes massifs, the Mont-Blanc massif and perhaps even Switzerland.

With athletes often hiking up to 4,000m of vertical ascent a day and running as much as 100km on foot, it’s not only an incredible test of physical endurance but it has become recognized as the supreme test for the world’s best hike-and-fly athletes. Red Bull X-Alps is only open to the world’s best paraglider pilots and adventure athletes, but uniquely it is a race where men and women compete equally. The race was founded in 2003 by the late adventurer Hannes Arch and has taken place every two years since then. The 2023 edition therefore marked the 20th anniversary of the iconic race.
